TAR UC Strengthens Commercialisation Ventures

With an aim to foster partnerships and long-term relationships with industry professionals, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) with PT IDStar Cipta Teknologi (‘IDSTAR’) on 15 January 2020.
Located in Jakarta, Indonesia, PT IDStar Cipta Teknologi is part of the IDStar Group of Companies that provides IT services through consultation. The company also strives to educate young individuals in developing their skills to become future-ready professionals.
Through this partnership, TAR UC and IDSTAR to explore commercialisation collaborations by identifying joint industry projects which IDSTAR would provide funding for ideation, prototyping and project commercialisation. IDSTAR will also provide venture capital for TAR UC’s iSpark ideas deemed suitable for commercialisation. Industry sharing sessions to provide TAR UC students with technical knowledge and experience will also be held via talks, seminars, trainings or forums.
Aside from that, suitable TAR UC students and graduates will be able to gain practical skills and experience through placement programmes and career opportunities with IDStar.
The MoU was signed by the President of TAR UC, Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei and IDStar Group Chief Executive Officer, Ms Arifa Tan.
