TOA - Malaysia’s Largest Secondary School Art Competition Is Back

Imagine scoring a scholarship from the World’s No. 1 Creative School for your art. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, it’s time to turn that dream into reality – because the country’s largest secondary school art competition, the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards (MT10), returns – bigger, bolder, and more epic than ever!

With lucrative offerings of The One Academy scholarships and cash rewards as its top prizes, this is your chance to show off your creative skills and impress the pros. This time with more than RM920,000 worth of scholarships and cash prizes up for grabs, The One Academy is looking forward to seeing your creative talents on full display. It’s the ultimate showdown for young, passionate artists all across the country… and the spotlight could be yours.

Now in its 28th year, MT10 brings back the magical collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, featuring Disney?Pixar’s “Elio” as the theme. This year’s drawing prompt, “Hi, I’m the Leader of Earth!” invites participants to imagine how they would communicate Earth’s unique qualities to aliens from across the galaxy. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, contestants must illustrate ideas of sincerity, mutual understanding, and respect to eccentric aliens. How cool is that?

Starting from May, the national-level drawing competition is open to high schoolers aged 14 to 18 and will be held in 13 locations across 8 states. The grand finale and awards ceremony will be held on 26 July at The One Academy’s main campus in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya.

Students are advised to register their participation before the closing dates of their preferred locations, which are as follows: Kuching (14 May), Kota Bharu (20 May), Sandakan (22 May), Sibu (28 May), Muar (5 June), Kota Kinabalu & Batu Pahat (6 June), Ipoh (13 June), Malacca (13 June), Kluang (19 June), Johor Bahru (20 June), Straits Quay Penang (11, 12 & 19 June) and Petaling Jaya (5, 12 & 26 June).

Ranked World’s No. 1 Creative School in 2024 by The Rookies, The One Academy outshone over 462 leading institutions from countries like the United States, Spain, Australia and more. This remarkable achievement marks a major milestone – not just for the college, but for aspiring young artists like you. Now more than ever, it is your chance to pursue your art and design dreams with a prestigious creative institution and MT10 is the launchpad.?

The Gold Award winner stands to win RM90,000 worth of The One Academy scholarship, followed by the Silver Award with RM70,000 and Bronze Award with RM50,000. Each will also receive RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000 in cash prizes respectively. Apart from that, the Young Artists Awards will also award seven winners with RM30,000 worth of scholarship and RM500 cash prize each. It does not end there, 80 of the best participants will also walk away with scholarships of RM8,000 and RM5,000.

That’s not all – for the final event ceremony on 26 July, dive into the Digital Art & Creative Design Expo held at The One Academy Bandar Sunway campus. Explore the campus life, inspiring student artworks, interactive installations, live digital art, fashion shows, fine art exhibitions, creative seminars and so much more.
