Most students if not all would like to get some financial aid to pursue their higher education regardless of their financial background. Scholarships are not always available only to the brightest of students. Many scholarships are awarded to students based on both needs and merits. In Malaysia, scholarships are given by government agencies, private higher institutions and other organisations (corporations and companies from many industries). There are also other scholarships available from non-Malaysian organisations. Some awards may be made to students with specific specialities such as engineering, medicine or mathematics.
