The Diploma in Health Information Management is a comprehensive 3-year program meticulously designed to foster expertise in the field of Health and Medical Information Management. The primary focus of this program is to equip students with essential competencies, particularly in ICD-10 Disease and ICD-9 Procedure Coding within the Case-Mix System, to address critical demands and adapt to the ever-evolving requirements of the healthcare industry. A significant aspect of the curriculum involves instructing students on effectively utilizing the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) as a worldwide reference book. This specialization will empower students to gain an in-depth understanding of the system and its applications. A distinguishing feature of the program is the incorporation of practical experience, wherein students will have the invaluable opportunity to participate in real-world practices within the Medical Record Department. This hands-on approach will be facilitated through practical postings at our esteemed 26 selected KPJ Specialist Hospitals, allowing students to implement theory and develop practical skills. Moreover, the program boasts a team of highly qualified academics with extensive industry experience in their respective fields. Their expertise ensures that students receive up-to-date insights and knowledge, resulting in favorable academic outcomes. The Diploma in Health Information Management is an all-encompassing 3-year program aimed at nurturing proficient professionals capable of meeting the challenges of Health and Medical Information Management. Diploma Health Information Management offers a great opportunity to work at KPJ Healthcare Group as well as in Government and Private Hospitals in Malaysia and abroad. The positions offered are Medical Record Officer/Health Information Officer (Clinical Coder), Insurance Coder, Marketing Officer, and Information Officer. Diploma graduates may also choose to further their Bachelor’s Degree programs in Healthcare Information Systems or Information Systems in General.
