Programme Learning Outcome (PLO)

  • PLO1: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge on media, cultural studies, and communication models as well as its theories through an understanding of the historical developments and its impact of change on the society.
  • PLO2: Analyse and interpret media, cultures, and communications research data, propose solutions and justify the reasons for the decisions to be taken in the various media and communications specialisations.
  • PLO3: Demonstrate practical skills either using media production equipment or provide services to produce varieties of media products in accordance to the needs of the society and its cultural values.
  • PLO4: Interpret and critically discuss issues surrounding media, cultures and communication fields through discourse activities organised in a group
  • PLO5: Communicate ideas effectively as an individual and as part of the team.
  • PLO6: Demonstrate the ability to use media hardware and software related to digital media sources.
  • PLO7: Demonstrate the ability to calculate budget for media related activities as well as measure quantified, statistical data according to research approaches in media, cultural studies and communication field
  • PLO8: Demonstrate leadership skills, autonomy and responsibilities towards the impact of changing media, and communication technologies as well as understanding the constraints in the forms of policies and structure from the social, cultural, economic and political environments
  • PLO9: Develop appropriate analytical, critical thinking and organising skills in media, cultural and communication field as well as in research.
  • PLO 10: Demonstrate entrepreneurship skills and inculcate a spirit of innovation
  • PLO 11: Interpret legal and ethical issues facing media and communication practitioners as well as act professionally in their areas of professional activities such as in dealing with the social, political, environmental and economic issues.

Entry Requirements

1Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum 5 credits in any subject; OR
2Pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in 2 subjects and credit in English in SPM; OR
3Pass in Matriculation/ Foundation in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in English in SPM; OR
4Pass in Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in English in SPM; OR
5Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia..
