Course Overview

The MSU programme leading up to the award of a Master in Accounting/Finance (By Research) is an interdisciplinary degree with a strong emphasis on research. It prepares you to demonstrate academic leadership, independence, creativity, and innovation in undertaking research. The advanced training you receive, while building your expertise in a specialist area, opens you to a wide range of acquirable and transferable skills. Strategic thinking and thought-provoking case studies are part and parcel of postgraduate work, providing real-world insight to students with a higher level of practical problem-solving abilities. The doctoral thesis will be authoritative in its contribution to knowledge in your particular field and admits you to the community of accounting/finance scholars.

Entry Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree with good honours from KUTPM(MSU)
• OR A Bachelor’s Degree with good honours from any other university or equivalent qualification from institution recognised by the Senate

Career Prospects

Graduates of this programme can pursue careers as Auditors, Compliance Managers, Risk Analysts, and Appraisal and Valuation Specialists in the accounting and finance sectors.
