Course Overview

This work-based learning (WBL) programme provides students with the opportunity to undertake credit-bearing work placements during their final year. The structure allows students to develop industry-specific skills and gain practical experience, enhancing their employability and understanding of real-world IT environments.

Curriculum

• WBL Programme Courses:
  • Final Year Project I
  • Final Year Project II
  • Industrial Internship
  • Business Development Plan
  • IT Project Management
  • IT Management, Ethics and Security
  • Web Technologies
  • Mobile Application Development
• Academic Format:
  • Weekly consultations with supervisors (approx. 30 mins/subject)
  • Online learning via e-learning site
  • Assessments may include presentations, reports, and/or exams
• Additional Notes:
  • Students pay tuition fees but no resource fees during the placement year
  • Students must meet the workplace's schedule and standards
  • Failing or misconduct may result in return to campus study

Entry Requirements

• Placement is optional but subject to: CGPA requirement
• Approval by academic department (interview)
• Completion of all Year 1 & 2 subjects including MPU
• Availability of placement opportunities
• Acceptance by the organisation (interview)
