Students taking the Diploma in Mass Communication learn to become professionals who are able to apply media and communication knowledge and practical skills in roles within various media-related industries, such as journalism, public relations, advertising, and broadcasting.
The Diploma in Mass Communication programme includes modules that train students to master essential skills such as handling radio and television equipment. They will also get involved in content production processes such as directing, scripting, and video editing. By mastering these skills, our students are equipped to take on a wide range of roles in radio, TV, and other media platforms.
Taking into account the latest trends and technological advancements in the global communications industry, students must be equipped with a solid foundation in mass communication theories. They are taught to critically examine the function of mass communication in society.
A student who graduates with a Diploma in Mass Communication will have the foundation required for a wide range of careers as a media practitioner, competent leader, and creative specialist.
Programme Learning Outcome (PLO)
1 | Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a minimum 3 credits including English; OR |
2 | Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum Grade B in 3 subjects including English; OR |
3 | Pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 KKM in a related field and credit in English in SPM; OR |
4 | Pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in one subject and credit in English in SPM; OR |
5 | Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. |
* For Diploma and Advanced Diploma, International student must score 5.0 for International English Language Test System (IELTS) or equivalent.
