Course Overview

To provide students with an integrated language skill that focuses on grammar, vocabulary, conversation, listening, reading and writing practices through various interactive and communicative activities.

To offer students a platform to improve their English language proficiency which will enable them to further their higher education studies or to find employment. The students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the Certificate in English Language.

Curriculum

Programme Learning Outcome (PLO)

• PLO1: Acquire knowledge and skills of the target language in a wide range of settings.
• PLO2: Demonstrate the use of language skills in various tasks.
• PLO3: Demonstrate the use of of language skills in social settings.
• PLO4: Use the language skills to communicate effectively and confidently.
• PLO5: Demonstrate the ability to use scientific methods, critical thinking and problem solving skills to resolve conflicts and problems using the language skills.
• PLO6: Apply information management and life-long learning skills to enhance personal development.

Entry Requirements

• Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a minimum one credit and pass in English; OR
• Pass O-Level with a minimum Grade C in one subject and pass in English; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.
