The Diploma in Information Technology programme is designed to equip students with the technical knowledge and skills in using technologies relevant to information systems development. Courses like Web and Mobile Systems, Web-Based Integrated Systems, Object-Oriented Programming, Introduction to Cybersecurity, Introduction to Interface Design, Information Management, Cloud Computing for Business and Fundamentals of Computer Networks are offered in addition to the foundation of computer science (problems solving and programming, computer architecture, database, systems analysis and design and operating systems) courses. Students will also have the opportunity to experience 20 weeks of industrial training in related industries. Graduates of this discipline should be able to work effectively at planning, implementing, configuring and maintaining an organisation’s computing infrastructure. They are to be prepared to succeed in roles involving planning and managing technology infrastructure.

English for Tertiary Studies, Academic English, Bahasa Kebangsaan A/ Civic Consciousness and Volunteerism, Penghayatan Etika dan Peradaban, Integrity and Anti Corruption, Co-curricular
(1) SPM - 3 Credits in the relevant subjects (2) O Level - 3 Grade C in the relevant subjects (3) UEC - 3 Grade B in the relevant subjects (4) Certificate - Relevant Certificate accredited by MQA OR Relevant Skilled/Technical/Vocational Certificate accredited by MQA or recognised by the Malaysian Government Compulsory subjects: i) (1), (2) and (3) SPM Credit in Mathematics or Additional Mathematics/ O Level Grade C in Mathematics or Mathematics-Additional/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject Student who do not have at leat a pass in English Language (SPM/O level/UEC) must attend TAR UMT Essential English Skills course during their first semester in the programme Note: a) SPM holders must have at least a pass in Bahasa Melayu and SPM holders from Year 2013 onwards must have at least a pass in Sejarah. b) Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Diploma. c) Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. d) Subject to the Ministry of Education latest requirements. |
