This diploma programme aims to equip students with a fundamental understanding of early childhood education. It is designed to produce early childhood educators with the relevant and up-to-date knowledge and competencies in child psychology, cognitive development, early childhood curriculum and assessment, children with special needs, digital technology in early childhood education, health and safety, school, family and community partnership and early childhood programme administration and management. Early childhood education simulation room, and creative art and play therapy room are among the facilities available in our campus to support students’ learning. Upon graduation, students can progress to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours), at Year 2 entry level, if they wish to obtain a degree in early childhood education.

(1) SPM - 3 Credits in the relevant subjects (2) O Level - 3 Grade C in the relevant subjects (3) UEC - 3 Grade B in the relevant subjects (4) Certificate - Relevant Certificate accredited by MQA Students who do not have at least a pass in English Language (SPM/ O Level/ UEC) must attend TAR UMT Essential English Skills course during their first semester in the programme. Note: a) SPM holders must have at least a pass in Bahasa Melayu and SPM holders from Year 2013 onwards must have at least a pass in Sejarah. b) Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Diploma. c) Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. d) Subject to the Ministry of Education latest requirements. |
