The Master of Science in Built Environment (by Research) aims to provide a continuation of studies for the graduates of Bachelor's degrees from various disciplines in Built Environments such as Architecture. Construction Management and Economics, Estate Management and Quantity Surveying in order to cater for the professional needs of the construction industry.

Master Research
Minimum Entry Requirements - A Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in Civil / Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Built Environment, or other related fields which is accepted by the Senate of TAR UMT; OR - Other qualifications equivalent to a Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in Civil / Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Built Environment, or other related fields that are accepted by the Senate of TAR UMT and recognised by the Government of Malaysia - Candidates without a related qualification or working experience in Civil / Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Built Environment, or other related fields, must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the Senate of TAR UMT. - A Bachelor's degree with the following conditions: 1) a bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with first-class (CGPA of 3.67 or higher) or it is equivalent to an academic or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme; 2) undergo internal assessment; and 3) any other requirements set by the Senate of TAR UMT Bachelor's degree candidates who are registered for master's degree programmes may apply to convert to the doctoral degree programmes subjected to the following conditions: 1) within 1 year for full-time and within 2 years for part-time candidates; 2) having shown competency and capability in conducting research at the doctoral level through rigorous internal evaluation by TAR UMT; and 3) approval by the Senate of TAR UMT English Language Requirements 1) Malaysian Students MUET Band 3.5 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent; OR Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English 2) International Students IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent; OR Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English |
