This Doctor of Philosophy in Economics programme is designed to produce competent graduates in the research field to meet the market demand as well as the nation's needs.
This Doctor of Philosophy in Economics programme will offer students the opportunity to develop advanced research skills in various types of research pertaining to the field of economics, which is in line with the direction of the Malaysian Education Blueprint for Higher Education (2015-2025).

| Minimum Entry Requirements A Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in the field or related field as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR Other qualifications equivalent to a Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) recognized by the Government of Malaysia Candidates without a related qualification in the field/s or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo prerequisite courses determined by the HEP. English Language Requirements 1) Malaysian Students MUET Band 4.0 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR Mid B2 or TOEFL iBT 60 or equivalent; OR Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English 2) International Students IELTS Band 6.0 or CEFR Mid B2 or TOEFL iBT 60 or equivalent; OR Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English |
