The Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology offered under the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FOAS) is a robust, skill-oriented programme designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in cutting-edge biotechnological applications. Students gain a deep understanding of core biotechnological principles while developing essential experimental and technical skills through extensive laboratory training. The programme offers specialisation in areas such as agricultural and environmental microbiology, omics technologies, and advanced cell and tissue culture, with electives covering topics like natural product biotechnology, food microbiology, and intellectual property rights. Emphasising research methodology and data analysis, the programme prepares graduates for leadership roles in agriculture, healthcare, and environmental sciences.
