Course Overview

The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electrical Engineering (EE242) is a 4-Year Degree programme in Electrical Engineering with a specific focus on Power Engineering. The programme exposes to the students the generation, transmission and utilization of electrical power. It also offers a comprehensive view into the basic principles and applications in the field of electrical engineering. It covers a range of subjects including Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Electric Drives, High Voltage,Economic Planning and Renewable Energy.

Entry Requirements

Pass SPM level or equivalent with good results

• Credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent
• Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Level 2
• Not colour blind

STPM:

• Minimum CGPA of 2.75 and
• Achieve at least Grade B- (2.67) in any two (2) subjects from the following:
  • Mathematics (T)/Further Mathematics (T)
  • Physics/Biology
  • Chemistry

Matriculation / UiTM Science Foundation / UM Science Foundation

• Minimum CGPA of 2. 75 and
• Achieve at least Grade B- (2.67) in any two (2) subjects and Grade C (2.00) in any one (1) subject from the following:
  • Mathematics/Engineering Mathematics
  • Physics/Biology/Engineering Physics
  • Chemistry/Engineering Chemistry

Diploma from UiTM:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering from UiTM with a CGPA of 2.5 or
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering from UiTM with a CGPA of 2.3 and 2 years experience or
• Diploma in a relevant field from UiTM with a CGPA of 2.75 or
• Pre-Degree in engineering or equivalent with CGPA 2.75

Diploma from other Institutions:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a CGPA of 3.00 or
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a CGPA of 2.5 and 2 years experience? or
• Diploma in a relevant field with a CGPA of 3.00

• Diploma graduates from institutions recognized by the Malaysian Government can apply for credit transfer / exemption.

• Pass MQA (aptitude test and portfolio evaluation)
• At least 23 years old in the year of application
• Work experience in the related field for at least seven (7) years
• Pass SPM / equivalent and pass:
  • Mathematics and Additional Mathematics
  • Physic / Chemistry / Science / Additional Science
  • English
