Course Overview

This program is offered at UMT as the need for professionalism in accounting is increasing both in the public and private sectors. According to The Second Industrial Master Plan report, the number of accountants required by the country by 2005 was 38,000 while in 2010 the number needed was 49 000. Until 1999, the number of accounting graduates who were members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) until October 2000 was 15 200.

Entry Requirements

General University Requirements

?

Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia July Paper;

and

Obtain a Diploma or other equivalent equivalent recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the IPTA Senate;

or

Pass the Malaysian High School Certificate (STPM) examination in 2010 or earlier with at least;

• Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Studies subjects;

and

• Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects;

or

Pass the Matriculation examination in 2010 or earlier with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;

and

Earned at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Bagi calon lepasan STPM / Matrikulasi tahun 2010 atau sebelumnya:- Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B- (2.67) dalam mana-mana satu (1) mata pelajaran berikut :-

• Ekonomi
• Perakaunan
• Pengajian Perniagaan / Pengurusan Perniagaan dan Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C (2.00) pada peringkat STPM / Matrikulasi dalam mata pelajaran berikut:
• Mathematics S / Mathematics

Atau

Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya kepujian (Gred C) pada peringkat SPM dalam mata pelajaran berikut:

• Mathematics

dan

Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya lulus (Gred E) pada peringkat SPM dalam mata pelajaran berikut:

• Bahasa Inggeris
